The Snohomish Basin is the backyard playground for Seattle area paddlers throughout the year. The drainage offers everything: rivers and creeks, powerful rapids and technical drops, rain fed and snowmelt, and mellow class II through challenging class V and beyond. Click on the names above for descriptions to the different creeks.
There are two primary guidebooks for the region. Jeff and Tonya Bennett's book,
A Guide to the Whitewater Rivers of Washington, is the most comprehensive with descriptions of both the popular runs and some of the less frequently boated but amazing creek runs.
Douglass North's book, Washington Whitewater, is somewhat more focused on the popular standards. For a video guide to the basin's steepest creeks check out Twitch 2000
