TOTAGATIC RIVER
(Washburn & Douglas Co., WI, 10 mi. northwest of Hayward)
LENGTH , CLASS , GRADIENT:
SEASON: A few weeks during the spring.
PUT-IN: At the end of Duck Pond Rd. below Totagatic Flowage. From the north side of Hayward turn west onto Hwy. 77. Continue 3.5 miles on Hwy. 77 and then take Hwy. 27 north for 7 miles until you reach Duck Pond Rd. Turn west onto Duck Pond Rd. It is about 2.5 miles to the river where it leaves Totagatic Flowage.
TAKEOUT: Colton Flowage
GAGE: Visual. The nearby USGS gage on the Namekagon River at Leonards could be useful.

SHUTTLE:
The Totagatic is mostly a class II run with two III-IV falls which can be run. There are several cabins along the river. It is a spring run.
