    Caution
    Safety Warning

This guide is intended to provide you with a menu of whitewater paddling opportunities found in Wisconsin and Michigan. The descriptions for each river are not comprehensive and they do not describe all the potential dangers associated with each river. For more complete information consult local paddlers or paddle shops. Area paddle shops carry the book Whitewater Quietwater which describes several of these runs in greater detail. All these rivers should be paddled with a river leader who is familiar with the run.

The Hoofer Outing Club and the authors of this guide assume no responsibility for any user of this guide. It is understood that river running can be very dangerous and physically demading. The user of this guide should understand that boating the rivers described may involve serious injury or death. Users of the guide must be liable for their own actions. The guide is intended for those using decked boats such as kayaks who have obtained instruction in both whitewater paddling and rescue techniques. Under no circumstances should individuals attempt to swim or tube in these rivers.

The user of this guide acknowledges both an understanding and assumption of risk involved in paddlesports.
