Vancouver Island
The best season for the island is the winter rainy season. This is just a list of rivers with whitewater potential. I have not run most of them so this is just a list to get you started on your research.
West Side Rivers
- Gold - mostly class IV but easier runs are possible. It's a beautiful river with excellent rapids on several different sections. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Gordon (at coastalbc.com) - Class IV/V. Known as some of the best creeking on the island.
- Kennedy (at coastalbc.com)
- Marble (at Jeff Holden's page) - Mostly class II but a couple more challenging drops that can be easily portaged. Includes a paddle out on the ocean. Covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
East Side Rivers
- Adam (at Jeff Holden's page) - class II with class IV canyon section. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Campbell - short class II training stretch with easy roadside access. Covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Chemainus - Class II/III with one more challenging drop. Covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide. The Copper Canyon run is a class IV/V creek run.
- Cowichan - Fun class II/III with good play and one more challenging drop at the start. This river holds its flow well between periods of rain. Covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Davie (at Jeff Holden's page) - Class III with a couple class IV drops. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Englishmen River (at coastalbc.com) - Includes some good park and huck
- Eve (at Jeff Holden's page) - class III with one class V in the canyon section. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Kokish (at Jeff Holden's page) - Class IV+ with a couple more challenging drops.
- Koksilah - Class II/III run and a class III/IV canyon run. Covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Nanaimo - Class II run. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Nimpkish (at Jeff Holden's page) - A couple class II runs and one class IV drop at Nimpkish Falls. Also covered in Pratt-Johnson's guide.
- Oyster River (at Jeff Holden's page) - Class II run.
- Puntledge (at coastalbc.com)
- Salmon River (at Jeff Holden's page) - Class II run.
- Stamp (at coastalbc.com) - Good class II that holds flow well.
- Tsitika (at Jeff Holden's page) - Class III run.

Ocean Surf
- Jordan River mouth
- Tofino Beaches (Wickaninnish Beach, Long Beach, Cox Bay)
