SEA TO SKY WHITEWATER (BC Coastal drainages)
This is just a list of rivers with whitewater potential. Some are just a couple drops and others are popular runs. You'll need to do your own research for several of these.
Burrard Inlet (Vancouver Area)
- Capilano - class III
- Seymour - a few different sections from class II to V.
- Lynn - class III/IV
Howe Sound Drainages
- Britannia Creek
- Furry Creek - featured in Still Twitchin'
- Stawamus River
Indian Drainage
- Indian River
- Mestilloet Creek
Squamish Drainage
- Ashlu Creek - there are several sections on this run providing fun for class III playboating or challenging class V creeking depending on your preference.
- Brandywine Creek
- Callaghan Creek - A classic class 4/5 run with a couple of waterfalls. Featured in Nurpu.
- Cheakamus River - Description for three different runs found in Pratt-Johnson's guidebook. The upper is a class 4 classic and then eases off as you head downstream.
- Cheekeye River
- Clendenning Creek - Class 4/5 fly-in trip on a tributary of the Elaho.
- Crawford Creek - featured in Still Twitchin'
- Culliton Creek - Low volume class 5.
- Elaho River - Class 5 run. Description found in World Whitewater. Good at lower flows.
- Mamquam River (link to BC Paddlepage) - Class 3 and close to Squamish. There are also some waterfalls featured in Still Twitchin'
- Mashiter Creek (link to kayakwest)- Short section of big class 5 drops. Featured in Still Twitchin' and Nurpu.
- Ring Creek
- Raffuse Creek
- Rubble Creek
- Skookum Creek - steep creek just east of Squamish. Featured in Still Twitchin' and Nurpu.
- Sims Creek
- Squamish River - Description of the class III Squamish Canyon run starting on the Elaho found in Pratt-Johnson's guidebook and in World Whitewater.
- Tatlow Creek - Creeking in the Ashlu drainage with some big drops and tight canyons.
